This page explains, in plain English, how Rated Dent Repair handles customer quote requests, damage photos, repairer matching, and privacy requests.

1. Who we are
Rated Dent Repair operates the RatedDentRepair.co.uk quote request and matching website for car dent repair, mobile dent repair, paintless dent repair, smart repair, and related vehicle cosmetic repair services.
We are not a repairer and we do not carry out repair work ourselves. We help customers submit photo-based quote requests and, where the customer agrees, share those requests with suitable independent repair specialists.
For privacy requests, please use our contact page and include your quote request reference if you have one.
2. What information we collect
We collect the information needed to operate a quote-matching service and keep it safe. Depending on how you use the website, this may include:
- Your name, email address, phone number if provided, and preferred contact method.
- Your postcode, location, or nearby town so we can match the request with relevant local repairers.
- Vehicle details such as make, model, year, and colour.
- Damage type, damage notes, service/category/location context, and uploaded photos.
- Your quote request reference or token used to identify your request safely.
- IP address, session data, rate-limiting information, and basic technical details where relevant for security, spam prevention, and site operation.
- Admin notes, request status, lead matching status, delivery status, and repairer unlock or response information.
- Repairer applications, business listing claims, verification details, and related messages if you apply as, or claim to represent, a repair business.
- Reviews, ratings, display names, and review moderation information if you submit a review.
3. How we use your information
- To create, review, handle, update, and close quote requests.
- To match customers with relevant car dent repair specialists.
- To send customer confirmations, service messages, and request-related updates.
- To notify repairers about suitable quote opportunities and help them respond where a request has been shared or unlocked.
- To run support, moderation, admin, lead delivery, and business listing operations.
- To detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, duplicate requests, and misuse of the service.
- To protect site security, monitor reliability, troubleshoot problems, and improve the service.
- To meet legal, accounting, audit, tax, payment, or operational obligations where they apply.

5. Uploaded photos
Uploaded photos are treated as private lead data. They are stored privately and are not published publicly on Rated Dent Repair business profiles, landing pages, or directory pages.
- Admins and support users may view photos when needed to operate, moderate, match, or support the quote request.
- Matched or unlocked repairers may view photos where needed to assess the damage and respond to the quote request.
- Please avoid uploading photos that show people, house numbers, keys, payment cards, documents, or unrelated sensitive information.
6. Who receives information
We share information only where needed to operate the service. Recipients may include:
- Matched independent repair specialists, where you have agreed to repairer sharing or where a repairer has unlocked an eligible lead.
- Hosting, database, private storage, queue, and infrastructure providers that help run the website.
- Email and notification providers used to send confirmations, alerts, and service messages.
- Authorised admin and support users who need access to operate the platform.
- Stripe or another payment provider if paid repairer credits, subscriptions, or payment features are used.
- Analytics or cookie providers only if analytics or non-essential cookies are implemented.
- Geocoding, postcode enrichment, or mapping providers only if external postcode/location enrichment is used.
7. Repairer responsibilities
Once a repairer receives a lead, that repairer is responsible for handling your details securely and only using them for that quote request, related follow-up questions, and arranging the relevant repair service.
8. Retention
Active quote requests are kept while they are being handled, matched, delivered, or supported.
Closed or completed quote request personal data may be retained for up to 180 days after the request is no longer active before it is eligible for anonymisation by our privacy cleanup process.
Spam requests may be retained for up to 30 days after they are closed or last updated before they are eligible for anonymisation.
Uploaded quote request photos may be retained for up to 180 days after upload before they are eligible for deletion from private storage.
Duplicate requests and operational records may be retained where needed for support, audit, abuse prevention, dispute handling, and operational checks. Reviews may remain published while relevant, but private contact details are not shown publicly.
9. Customer choices and rights
You can make privacy requests through our contact page. Depending on the situation, you can ask us to:
- Provide access to personal information connected with your request.
- Correct inaccurate details.
- Delete or erase information where applicable.
- Withdraw, cancel, or update a quote request where possible.
- Restrict or object to certain uses where applicable.
If your quote request has already been shared with repairers, we may need to tell you to contact those repairers as well because they will hold their own copy of the lead they received.
10. Reviews
If you submit a review, approved reviews may be shown publicly on Rated Dent Repair. The public display name you provide may be shown with the review. Your email address, phone number, and private contact details are not displayed publicly as part of the review.
12. Security
We use practical controls to protect quote requests and uploaded photos, including private storage for lead photos, access controls, admin and repairer login restrictions, and route protections for private files.
No website, email system, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please only upload information that is needed for the repair quote.
